Far From the Sea

Image
Sometimes, you just want to be far from the sea, lost in a mountain landscape. You just want to listen to the birds and the sounds of villages surrounded by nature. And the water. That other kind of water. There are no waves, only creeks flowing down from the Sierra Nevada. I love Pampaneira and Bubión (province of Granada, Spain), two villages connected by a winding road. I need to be there at least once a year, always in the summer.  First on the road: Pampaneira Bubión, between Pampaneira and Capileira (which is bigger and not so romantic IMHO) #Pampaneira #Bubión #Alpujarra #Granada #Andalusia #Spain

Wetlands With Water!

Image
Due to the heavy rains in March of this year, several wetlands that I had only known to be dry for the past 20 years finally lived up to their name (in Los Toruños Natural Park, province of Cádiz, Spain). I was amazed by the water's deep color. I spotted several ibises, which I had never seen there before. Pond in Los Torunos (province of Cádiz, near the city of El Puerto de Santa María, Spain) Wetland in Los Toruños (province of Cádiz, near the city of El Puerto de Santa María, Spain) You might want to visit this place: #Andalusia #Andalucía #Cádiz #Spain #LosToruños #LaAlgaida #wetland #marshland

July. Time to Rest.

Exam and procession season is over. The heat slows everything down. Only the sea attracts like a magnet. Vintage wooden cart in Arroyo de la Miel (Benalmádena, Andalusia, Spain) #vintage #wooden #cart #ArroyoDeLaMiel #Benalmádena #Andalusia #Spain
