Animaloons

Image
Something different, nothing to do with abstract art ;-)  Those last months, I have been taking part to a game (I would call it a game rather than a challenge) created by Gema (Poppy Dandelion) ,  Valentina Bandera , promoted  Jon Esparza , while Nora Surojegin runs the Twitter feed): every second Tuesday of each month, we are asked to draw an inflated animal (yes, with Helium, to make a balloon of it). It may sound a bit silly but we have a lot of fun with it! To have a look, search for #animaloon_collective or @Animaloonies . Next animaloon is on March 13th and it will be a cow! My contributions so far:   #GuineaPigloon (February 2018) #Unicornloon (January 2018)  #Elfloon (December 2017) #Reindeerloon (also December 2017)   #Turkeyloon (November 2017) #Batloon   (October 2017) #Bearloon (September 2017) #Goorferloon (August 2017)  #Slothloon (July 2017)

A fresh start

Two paintings this week, one with strong colours to celebrate the end of Carnival  yesterday ( Rosenmontag  ("Rose Monday")), and the other with soft tones, to remind that spring will be here soon. A fresh start Starfish

Warm colours

February! It is snowing not so far away in the mountains - fortunately, not here at the coast. But for us, the temperatures are low enough at the moment (without central heating and properly insulated houses). So, I opted for a lot of warm colours! Enjoy and stay warm! Grace

Wind in the park

Image
I am so glad it is Friday (as usual): we have been working too much those last weeks, so we are looking forward to enjoying a real weekend (i.e. without having to open the PC for work).  As it is windy and cold at the moment, we will visit a garden centre tomorrow to buy some green plants and material to sow chillies, like we did last year (but more of them and different varieties). Also, our dog needs a new basket (hope we will one there as well). :-) Wind in the park   Leaves and grass

The power of nature

At the Costa del Sol, nature is everywhere and most of it is green all year long. And there will always be a tree or a hedge blooming, somewhere. I cannot imagine myself creating any longer without this lush vegetation around me (and blue skies, and the sea).  The power of nature

Back to work

It is always a bit odd in January to open a new calendar and Excel file for book keeping, but little by little, working as usual feels normal again. The highlights of this year will probably be May and September, but I am sure every day will bring some vitality and creative energy. Waking up in Malaga  Dreaming on the shore

Happy New Year! Rio Seco

Image
Happy New Year everybody! May 2018 be a creative, healthy, prosperous and peaceful year for us all! We are just back from a mini-holiday  at the very south of the province of Alicante (Valencian community, Spain). There, we had the opportunity to rest, far away from the usual December hustle and bustle.  Our stay was much too short to explore all wanted to, as we also had to visit some places we have been cherishing for years, like the river Río Seco with its impressing reed near El Pinar de Campoverde), but this trip gave us plenty of energy to start to work again!   Río Seco near El Pinar de Campoverde (province of Alicante, Spain)     Río Seco near El Pinar de Campoverde (province of Alicante, Spain)   Embalse de la Pedrera (Torremendo, province of Alicante, Spain) Embalse de la Pedrera (Torremendo, province of Alicante, Spain)
