Snails on a Rock

Image
I can neither leave this world nor ignore everything that is not right, but I can try to focus on the beautiful little things in life, in nature. Two dead snails on a rock, surrounded by some (kind of) clover, near the river Guadalhorce. One bigger, one smaller, together for eternity. Until another flood or a human foot separates them. Mijas Pueblo, Once Again and Still so Beautiful

Image
Mijas Pueblo is one of the reasons we have been living at the Costa del Sol for almost 20 years.  We don't exactly live there, but we are close enough to visit several times a year. From the Parque La Muralla you can see quite far, even Africa on a clear day.  This time the sky was not clear enough, so Africa and Morocco remained hidden. But my attention was drawn to the little gorge there and the pools next to it. You could see water ( that has not happened for a long time) !  Parque La Muralla, Mijas Pueblo (province of Málaga, Spain) #Mijas #MijasPueblo #Málaga

"All concrete". Really?

Image
If you look for the sun and think that everything else is concrete, open your eyes and you'll discover Andalusia where you thought it had disappeared. Avenida de las Palmeras, Benalmádena Costa (province of Málaga, Spain) #Benalmádena #CostaDelSol #Málaga #Andalusia

Calle Pan Triste Torremolinos

Image
Some beautiful places are fleeting. One of them is this green abandoned lot on Calle Pan Triste in Torremolinos. I suppose it will disappear one day to make way for a huge ugly building - nothing unusual here. As long as it is there, I enjoy the view every time I pass by. I dedicate this picture to the memory of Dr. Mustafa Elmasri, psychiatrist in Gaza (@Gaza_Psych), who sadly passed away yesterday. #PanTriste #Torremolinos #Málaga #Gaza

January Has Become So Normal Already

Image
It is already the middle of January and this new year has already become so normal. The noise and excesses that accompanied the beginning of the year are now forgotten (until December). The coast is incredibly green, it may be a bit exaggerated to compare it with the autonomous community of Asturias, but I have not seen it so green in 20 years (which unfortunately does not mean that the draught is over). Since I love mosses and similar plants, I am happy to discover some near me (here some moss I found during a hike near Pizarra). Enjoy! Happy Holidays! Pizarra

Image
Happy holidays! I wish all my friends much happiness in this holiday season and love, health and peace throughout the coming year.  Here are two photographs of the landscape near the small Andalusian town of Pizarra. I have never seen it as green as this year (we finally got some rain, sometimes too much). Enjoy!  If you like them, prints and other stuff are, as always, available through the links below. Flowers After The Rain

Image
After the rain, a dry landscape can be so different: mushrooms and green grass are everywhere, and flowers are popping up.  This will not last, but it is time to enjoy the almost winter, which is mild here. Fortunately, I do not have to travel at the moment, so I can quietly admire the hidden beauty of my place.
