The storm that did not come
I was notified yesterday that I am among the finalists of the XXIII Concurso de Fotografía "Torremolinos" (theme Torremolinos) with my photograph "Playa de la Carihuela" (Carihuela Beach) (the first of both pictures hereunder)!
This part of the contest was a photo marathon: all pictures had to been taken between May 6-8. We were not lucky that weekend, as the weather forecast was heavy rainfall and storm. I rushed to the beach on Friday afternoon to take some pictures.
Our beaches are nice (of course, they are urban), but generally, they look like those on postcards: blue sky, turquoise sea, sun, many people... On that Friday, the atmosphere was surrealistic. The small fisherman's houses looked like smaller than usual under such a black sky, waiting for the storm - that finally did not come.
