Chani's Creative Space

Week after week, I have been drawing mythical creatures to send them to @AnimalAlphabets on Twitter (hashtag #AnimalAlphabets), beginning with A again.  In the meanwhile, we have achieved half of the alphabet, A to M! My favourites are the Erymanthian Boar, Jackalope and Lernaean Hydra I made for them. Enjoy! Here a collage with an overview from A to M:

We have the first heat wave at the moment, 40 ºC yesterday (it normally never happens here at the coast). Those last days, I have been trying to create some refreshing art between translation work and an escapade in the Alpujarra Granadina (a beautiful mountainous region near the town of Granada). For Spanish people, June means the beginning of the summer holidays. For foreign people like me, generally not :-( Friendship remains Summer in town Night sky (Did you notice that this painting is building the background of "Summer in town"?)

June is there and life goes on. I heard only now that a friend of mine died a couple of months ago. It is sad, but if she were still alive, she would tell me to keep working honestly and to enjoy the summer.  Full moon night Hot sand
