Snails, stones and burrs

For many, fall is synonym of wetter days (rain or something similar). Well, not really here in Malaga province. Some rain was supposed to come, we saw some microscopic drops on our terrace (which people use to call "mud drops"), and that was it.

Thus, our trail was on a dry trail this Saturday. I found those snails, stones and burrs, a lovely composition by nature (my dog's fur was full of those burrs after sitting in this area and removing them was no joke).

There are many watch towers in Southern Spain, all along the coast. I have always thought it would be nice to take a sabbatical and hike or bike from one to the other, reading about their history. Almost Fall

Fall is almost here, and that is good. I love the shorter days, the prospect of getting back to standard time (even if it not the time that corresponds to our meridian), eating chestnuts, taking longer walks without dying of the heat. Casa Forestal in Alhaurín el Grande

It is summer, it is too hot, but we went back to a place that we love, the "Casa forestal" in Alhaurín el Grande (near Málaga, Spain), and we could chill there a bit (forgetting for a short moment all pictures and reports of destroying, killing, suffering etc. we had seen about Gaza, when there is so little we can do).  Two years ago, a huge forest fire destroyed a lot in this area, but this place has been preserved (the flame stopped just above it).
