Ships, storks and street art in El Puerto

In El Puerto de Santa Maria (short: "El Puerto") near Cadiz, far south in Andalusia, water and birds are omnipresent. On the Atlantic coast, the town breathes according to the rhythm of ebb and flow (and wine). When we usually arrive there on Friday evening, it is already dawning, which makes the atmosphere even more romantic.

Walking along river Guadalete, there are always interesting ships to look at:

Like this one, the Josefa Perez. With this special light and sky, it was photogenic:

On the wetlands near to El Puerto, water birds are the most frequent. But in town, storks are everywhere, especially around and ON the cathedral:

And they are present in street art as well. It is well done, but unfortunately, I do not know the name of the artist to give him/her credit. Should you know him or her, please kindly tell me! Thank you.

  1. Stunning photos, Chani! I feel like I've been transported there! Looks like a welcoming haven for storks and I love how they're celebrated on those murals.
