In the mountains near Saint-Chamond

I finally had some time to show you some pictures of the beautiful nature near Saint-Chamond (Pilat Regional Nature Park, Loire Department in Central France), taken on a hike near the peak Crêt de l'Oeillon.
Loire is a quiet department, with forests, hills and mountains. Mass tourism is absent there. So enjoy!

  1. Beautiful landscape - I can almost smell the fresh air! And I've never seen anything like those red fungi before!

    1. Thanks for reading me, Zsuzsa! I had seen some fungus "Amanita muscaria", but no "Clathrus archeri". I have just read that those are also called "octopus stinkhorn" or "devil's fingers". I could spend days and nights discovering plants like these :-)
