Water reservoir in Álora
September, finally! Temperatures are dropping (a bit, at least in the mornings and evenings), which is a good thing. We are even expecting some rain tomorrow. Water reservoirs in the province really need to be filled. I am looking forward to hiking during the day instead of getting up in the middle of the night. End of the Year Again
I find it difficult to look back and to look forward because I am someone who lives in the present. Since I don't know what tomorrow will bring, I don't want to worry too much about what I will do, won't do or should avoid. But one thing is certain: in 2024, I will hold on, just as I did in 2023. Trying not to hurt others, trying to live reducing my carbon footprint. Living with eyes wide open to see beauty wherever it is. Making art out of it. That's terrible, Chani! I've seen a few of these discarded masks around here, but nothing like on this scale. I bet it's the tourists - I can't imagine the locals doing it!
ReplyDeleteZsuzsa, mostly locals are to blame in this case, not tourists (BTW, we have so little tourism at the moment). The big majority of locals of course bring their rubbish to the bins (also their cans, papers, plastic bottles...), but some do not. So you can find plastic waste on beaches and in rivers, and now, you will see face masks everywhere as well. I could have taken many more pictures like those, it is heartbreaking. Also, reducing plastic in shops and in our lives seems to be absolutely forgotten.
