Thank you, 2021!

Image
Thank you, year 2021, for obliging me (again) to learn to resist, following the voice of my conscience and only that. Thank you to all who have been there, creating positive art and sending me good vibes despite of the circumstances! I wish you a happy, peaceful, healthy and successful New Year 2022!  Here two pictures taken today in Antequera (Andalusia, Spain). We had 23 ºC there while the coast was disappearing in the fog. Enjoy!

Animaloons 2021

Image
December also means that twelve funny animaloons have been drawn since January, the second Tuesday of each month, yeah! I had no time this year to participate to more brilliant challenges, unfortunately, as I had to spend more energy than usual for other tasks. Hopefully 2022 will be less stressful. But here they are, my twelve animaloons! Enjoy! December skies

Image
The year will soon be over and I wonder where the months have gone. Probably, the coastal wind and the propaganda have swept them away.  As I may have no time later, I would already like to thank those who swim against the tide, or rather, teach aikido against the tide. ;-)  Skies are wonderful here at the moment, they are different every day and always to enjoy. A wonderful December sky. Avenida Carlota Alessandri, Torremolinos (Spain)

Litter on the beach

Image
We had a couple of days of heavy storm last week. After that, our beaches looked terrible again. Lots of plastic, fishing gear, old shoes, face masks. I wish I could live in another world. Litter in the beach

End of season

Image
This year, everything was different. As much was still forbidden or impossible in many countries of regions in spring and summer, autumn became summer! Now, it is slowly getting quieter; one also needs to rest at some point. I love the fresh evenings under our big sky. Playa Miguel, Torremolinos

The perfect light

Image
Those evenings, I walked through the town like a hunter, searching for the perfect light. October has been offering us great skies and special moments. Even trivial places became beautiful.  Event though it seems unbelievable, the picture at Plaza Nogalera  and the last one near Carihuela Beach are taken half an hour apart! Alone on my path

Image
End of October already. I did not realise I had not posted for so long. There was a lot of work to be done, little time for creations. At least, my Christmas cards are produced and I also have already bought a 2022 calendar, yeah!  Too glad that 2021 will be history soon. I notice more than ever that I am alone on my path. Fishing boats at Carihuela Beach

Image
October is there, and autumn still looks like summer: people in the sea and on terraces - many of them. As if people had decide to live again, fortunately. Again, in the evening, it looked like some rain would come, but nothing happened. Fishing boats at Carihuela beach (Spain)

Waiting for the storm

Image
Last week, we have (again!) been waiting every day for a storm that did not come. We desperately need rain, that was seen in Extremadura, Huelva and Madrid (among others). Our Costa del Sol though is as dry as always. I could capture one of those “the-storm-will-certainly-coming-soon” moments, full of hope and excitement. Enjoy! Sedella and Salares

Image
Andalusia is dotted with lovely white villages and small towns; the best known being Mijas Pueblo and Frigiliana, maybe, because they overlook the coast that is visited each year by millions of tourists. It is worth to look for more hidden places though, even if the way to get there is tedious. For example, Sedella and Salares, situated in the region called Axarquia, east of Malaga. Enjoy! More moss, and fungi

Image
I have now completed my series "Moss and co" with more moss and all kinds of beautiful fungi. I would have liked to pick some to eat them, but as it is not a good idea to do that without a solid knowledge, I just enjoyed their colours and forms. I wish I could have stayed longer in those dark forests.

Moss and co

Image
I can't believe it: my last blog is from a month ago! I was on the road, without Internet, looking for romantic places in Swedish forests. I have created a series for moss and lichen on my Fine Art America website. As it is a lot of work to edit pictures, I will put more there gradually, in the next weeks, because September is now there with other assignments also.  If I had to design a flag for a (non-existent) country flag, it would definitely be green and blue. Green like all those plants I could observe in wet environments, and blue like the lakes, the sea (and the sky when it is not raining). Enjoy!

Refreshing sight

Image
August is there, which means even more people on holiday here, who are turning beaches and pools into colourful carpets. If I wasn't afraid to watch the news (which I am not watching for months), it would be a normal year, at a normal place. Refreshing sight

Roskilde (II)

Image
Hiking around Roskilde , we found plenty of beautiful fields (rapeseed, wheat...) and meadows. As the weather was changing quickly, we could enjoy impressing skies.

Roskilde (I)

Image
Many people may know the small town of Roskilde (Denmark) for its music festival. The only reason why we wanted to be there though is the  Nationalpark Skjoldungernes Land , with its soft hills, forests and fjord - and exceptional birdlife.  The pictures here are taken at different places along the fjord, often before the rain or storm. Another series will come later, with fields and other impressing skies. As usual, prints and other stuff are available through Fine Art America , where you can find the whole album. Enjoy!
